The top volunteer in the pack is the Pack Committee Chair. They are responsible for ensuring enough qualified adult volunteers are in place to run a fun, safe, and enriching program. They lead the adult leaders and run a monthly Committee meeting.
The Assistant Committee Chair supports the Committee Chair in leading the Committee and planning to ensure that the Pack has the resources it needs to thrive.
The leader of the Pack Meeting is the Cubmaster. In addition to serving as the master of ceremonies the Cubmaster provides support to Den Leaders. They lead the scouts in the unit, and are responsible for delivering the Scouting program.
The Assistant Cubmaster is second in command at the Pack Meetings, and assists the Cubmaster with running the Pack-wide meetings and events, or takes over when the Cubmaster is not available. He/she also provides support to the Den Leaders.
The Pack Committee runs the business side of the Pack behind the scenes. This group is led by the Committee Chair and includes the Cubmaster and Den Leaders, as well as the Treasurer, Outdoor Activities Chair, Recharter Chair, Advancement Chair, Webmaster, NOVA (STEM) Counselor, and more. The Committee meets once a month to plan and prepare for upcoming meetings, events, and advancements. If you are interested in volunteering to help out the Pack, the Committee could always use and appreciate your service for as much or as little time as you can spare!
A full list of the volunteer positions can be found in this document.
The Chartered Organization Representative (COR) is typically a member of the Chartered Organization (CO) for the unit, Centerville Presbyterian Church in our case. They represent the CO in approving new adult leader applications, and are the sole individual who can approve a new Committee Chair. The COR can also appoint a COR Delegate who is an active leader with the unit to help inform these decisions and maintain a collaborative relationship between the unit and the CO.
